K33. Requiem

For Small Orchestra, Chorus, and Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, Contralto, Tenor, and Baritone Soloists

• 1 English Horn, 2 French Horns, 1 Bassoon, Strings, Tubular Bells
• Divisi is by 2 in the strings at most, with no divisi in the contrabass
• If an English horn is not available, a clarinet may be substituted; if the winds are doubled for large ensemble, double the English horn with a clarinet
• If a set of bells is not available, substitute a synthesizer or software; the bells are to be played with 2 mallets and appear only in the Lux aeterna

This Requiem is of moderate difficulty and has been composed so that it may be performed by a very small orchestra and modest chorus, making it accessible to many Church groups.

The Kryie is a capella and may be performed standalone. It moves from G minor to E minor passing through B and E major.

The D minor Lacrymosa has been excerpted for standalone performance with mezzo-soprano soloist and string trio.
